Observing the shape of the traditional houses of Senegal, we decided to adopt some of their elements in our own idea without being an exact copy. We wanted to approach this new space, the children's house, with a more modern view in order to integrate it smoothly into its surrounding region. So we deconstructed the traditional circular Senegal’s house. We divided its basic shape, the circle, into two semicircles and then detached one from the other, placing them opposite each other as well as deforming them. With this move we created two separate, independent buildings that were produced from the same original shape while keeping features of the original. The first volume hosts the administration, storage and recreation while the other, the hospitality department. In the central space between them, a courtyard is created for the children's outdoor activities.
